On August 30th, the Little Sisters of the Poor celebrated the feast day of its Patroness – Saint Jeanne Jugan – with a fun and festive Hawaiian Luau.
Residents gathered on the back patio which was transformed into an Hawaiian resort complete with flamingos and tiki bar! The weather was perfect supplying clear blue sky, warm sunshine with a light breeze.
Everyone dressed for the occasion wearing leis around their necks with some even placing lovely flowers in their hair. There was a delicious assortment of sandwiches and salads with ice cream for dessert.
Residents also enjoyed freshly made virgin pina coladas and strawberry daiquiris as they watched staff members perform Hawaiian dance routines. It was a fun-filled and exciting day that is still being talked about.
Seeing our beloved Residents so relaxed and happy was the perfect tribute to St. Jeanne Jugan who lived her life in dedication to the health and well-being of the elder community.
