ADMISSIONS
Queen of Peace Residence offers independent apartments as well as a nursing care unit, allowing our elderly Residents to live in security and comfort. Persons 65 years of age and older are eligible for admission to our Home.
Admissions to both the apartments and skilled nursing care are generally from a waiting list, but we take urgent needs and special situations into consideration. Each application is evaluated in light of the particular circumstances involved and our ability to meet the individual’s needs.
New York State requires that a nurse complete a Patient Review Instrument (PRI) prior to admission to skilled nursing care.
Prior to admission, an applicant is scheduled for a pre-admission visit. During the time of the visit, the social worker will meet with the applicant and/or responsible person to share information concerning policies of the facility.
The applicant will also meet the Administrator, the Little Sister responsible for the unit and the Director of Nursing. The applicant and/or responsible person will have the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification of information about pending admission.
We do not offer sub-acute care, short-term rehabilitation care, assisted living or specialized dementia services. If we are unable to offer admission, every effort is made to suggest other options in the community.
The services at Queen of Peace Residence are provided without regard to race, creed, color, national origin, gender, marital status, or disability. We are a smoke-free facility.
