Queen of Peace held its annual Golf Outing on May 19 at the Hempstead Golf & Country Club. Golfers began the day with a fortifying brunch and hit the course at 12:30 p.m.
A fun-filled evening followed with a buffet style dinner and several types of raffles offering guests a chance to win some amazing prizes including a flat screen television, Giant’s tickets with parking validation and a one-week stay at a resort in Florida, just to name a few!
We also had a Live Auction for tickets to see Andrea Bochelli perform at Madison Square Garden. These raffle gifts were donated by the club’s golf committee members; we are so very grateful for all they do to help bring this event to life.
We were blessed to be able to give special thanks to Peter Baudouin who has been a loyal and extremely generous supporter of the Little Sisters for many years.
There was also a moving tribute to Bill Schiffer who sadly passed away last month. Bill was the founder of the golf outing and his family was deeply touched by the remembrance.
This year’s Honoree, Joseph Russo, received a beautiful plaque and delivered a wonderful speech detailing his connection and loyalty to the Sisters and their mission.
